Dr! Idriss — 2024

Dr! Idriss is a website that offers prescription (Rx) services conducted by a dermatologist Dr. Idriss.

This project was completed as part of my internship at Same Same Studio.

The website was designed to streamline and enhance the process of obtaining dermatological prescriptions online. By adapting and updating components from Dr. Idriss’s existing website, the new design ensures a cohesive user experience and addresses the need for accessible dermatology care.

Problem Statement

— The lack of an intuitive, accessible platform for obtaining dermatological prescriptions online

— The issue is that every product on the website needs an ingredient glossary with detailed descriptions and step-by-step usage instructions to help users understand and use them effectively.

— From a business perspective, the challenge was to extend Dr. Idriss’s services to a broader audience through a seamless online experience, thereby increasing patient reach and satisfaction.

Solution

— The website comprises several key pages: the main page serves as the primary landing and navigation hub, guiding users to the FAQ page for commonly asked questions, the About page for detailed information about Dr. Idriss and the practice, and the Shop page where users can browse and purchase dermatological products.

— The design included integrating an easy-to-navigate interface that simplifies the prescription request process. Additionally, we introduced an ingredient glossary for each product with detailed descriptions and step-by-step usage instructions.

Design Process

The design process began with understanding the requirements for the new Rx service. As a junior designer, I collaborated with a senior designer to adapt the existing design system from Dr. Idriss’s previous project. This involved:

  1. Conducting user research and identifying key pain points in the current user journey.


  2. Creating prototypes to visualize the new Rx functionality.


  3. Adapting existing components and designing new ones as necessary to fit the specific needs of the Pillow Talk Rx service.


  4. Ensuring a seamless integration of the new components with the existing design system to maintain brand consistency.


  5. Collaborating closely with developers during the handoff phase to ensure the designs were implemented accurately and effectively.


  6. Assisting in the launch of the website, ensuring all design elements functioned as intended.

Results

The design solutions significantly impacted the business by providing an accessible platform for patients to receive dermatological prescriptions online. This not only increased patient satisfaction and engagement but also expanded Dr. Idriss’s reach to a wider audience. The seamless user experience and cohesive design reinforced the brand’s reputation for providing high-quality dermatological care. As a result, Pillow Talk Rx helped in driving more traffic, increasing conversion rates, and improving overall business efficiency.
