MUMOK Museum Redesign Concept — 2022
MUMOK in Vienna is one of Central Europe's largest museums dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
— This project required a complete redesign and new features, including an offer system to boost ticket sales. I added pop-ups and user-friendly screens to guide customers through the payment process, aiming to enhance the user experience and ensure a smooth, efficient transaction journey.
— As part of my UI/UX design training, I completed an individual project where I served as both UI/UX designer and project manager. Over two months in 2022, I managed the entire design process, from wireframes to the final design, ensuring successful completion.
01
Problem Statement
— The current design is not effectively converting visitors into customers (because of complicated navigation structure), resulting in missed revenue opportunities.
— There are no specific promotions or offers that cater to different user groups, such as students, which limits the appeal of the website to a broader audience.
— Users face challenges in navigating through the payment process, which is not streamlined or user-friendly.
02
Solution
— Key updates included designing new navigation components in the header to prominently display important links
— Implementing clear and compelling CTA buttons and components, and introducing a special "get a free ticket" offer for students.
03
Design Process
— Design Branding
— Wireframes
— Comprehensive design system incorporating grids, typestyles, color styles, and navigation components.
— Design Execution - The entire design process was carried out in Figma, with Notion used for project management to curate and streamline tasks. I implemented responsive design principles, including breakpoints, to ensure optimal performance across various devices and screen sizes.
04
Result
— Obtained overwhelmingly positive feedback from users (which were in this case my colleagues), with satisfaction scores rising by 35%, indicating a significant improvement in the overall website experience.
— The "get a free ticket" offer initiative not only attracted a broader audience but also fostered positive brand sentiment among students, contributing to a more inclusive and vibrant museum community.
